My Archives: April 2006

I'm still seeking experts for various assignments. But all I can say right now is: TGIF. I think I have a case of "Friday-itis," given that I'm sitting here listening to Alphaville's 1980s ballad "Forever Young" on my iTunes player. Sometimes you have to know when to put away the keyboard, if you know what I mean.

Next week I'll be trying to think of some trendy ideas for my management column, so it's a good time to drop me a note.

There. I pulled up The Cure's "It's Friday, I'm In Love" and Steely Dan's "Black Friday." With any luck, they'll pull me out of my five o'clock funk. Cheers, Chris

I'm looking for experts for an upcoming story about the passage of mandatory health coverage in Massachusetts, as well as for another story about loaning employees out for pro-bono/volunteer projects. I can't give away too much here, so please feel free to drop me a note for more information.

It's Monday, and that means it's back to the salt mines. I'm starting out the week by seeking small employers have are preparing for a potential avian flu pandemic. I'm interested to hear from small employers who are taking steps to prepare, or at least have bird on the brain, so to speak.

I'm also seeking experts who can talk about an apparent trend in which employers are having employees who smoke pay more for their health insurance. Is this happening, and why? Thanks...

I'm looking for sources for two pieces. One is about how small business owners need to be careful in using online venues such as myspace.com to get additional information about applicants. What are the legal dangers, etc.? The other topic is about the anti-consumer movement. Please contact me for more information. Go UCLA!
